Attacking With 1.e4 (John Emms)
160 Pages
ISBN (10 digits)
1-85744-267-9

This book was written by John Emms, a British Grandmaster which plays 1.e4 his entire life. In this book all possible defences to 1.e4 are covered, therefore presenting a complete guide to players who plays 1.e4. The variations and lines which is discussed and teached in the book require minimal knowledge on opening theory for the reader to understand. This book also is up to date, with the openings tried and tested in recent tournaments and proven useful.

John Emms has taken a shot at the most difficult type of repertoire book, and he has come pretty close to hitting a bulls-eye. The repertoire he develops should prove useful for the average player seeking a playable middlegame with reasonable prospects for success. While some players may find the book’s explanatory text to be a little on the short side, the quality of the theoretical coverage should prove useful for most players.
